Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has had a difficult season, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.

His varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in particular - led to him exiting of the top ten and finally splitting with former mentor Cervara.

Presently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.

It is the player's initial championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after that period of 2023.

The win also signifies the Russian has secured twenty-one championships at 21 various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, including in the German tournament in the past months.

His retrieving strategy and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had caused observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the top level was over.

Yet the player has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and perform assertively, supported by an improved service.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, securing 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to create a final set.

The opponent saved four early-game break points in a tight deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Fittingly, he clinched the win with a point at the net area, with Moutet failing to control a volley after a lengthy match.
